As we move out of the apology (defense, not regret) written from the pen of the divinely inspired Paul to the young and clearly impressionable ‚ekklesia‘ of Thessalonica, we arrive at a transition into the heart of the letter, which perhaps might be described as perseverance in the face of persecution and suffering unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. This transition appears in 2:13, building upon the statement that these believers were called, “into His [God’s] own kingdom and glory.”
„And for this cause we also give thanks to God unceasingly that, having received [the] word of [the] report of God by us, ye accepted, not men’s word, but, even as it is truly, God’s word, which also works in you who believe.“ (1Thessalonians 2:13)
